Plan II Honors Creative Thesis
Based on extensive year-long research in Puebla and Mexico City, Ronit created a fashion collection inspired by Talavera. Through her research, Ronit shows that Talavera stands as a key example of visual and material culture in colonial Latin America that portrays the hybridization of Spanish and Indigenous cultures. She designed this creative thesis as a way of representing the trans-culturism that occurred in Mexican history, and also as a way of illustrating her own cultural identity—a fusion in and of itself of multiple cultures and influences. This gallery includes her entire creative process from moodboards to the final lookbook.
